Dunham Tool manufactures high precision, high speed spindle, cartridge spindle assemblies which are available as complete headstock assemblies with the high speed spindle mounted in a headstock with collet actuators or chuck actuators and pulleys. Dunham Tool's cartridge spindle and high speed spindle headstock assemblies are used with innumerable standard work-holding fixtures such as collets, jaw chucks as well as special fixtures. Dunham Tool will provide any standard or special mounting adapter to accommodate your work-holding specification.
These high speed spindles accept 16C, 3J, 5C (also 1c, 3c, various Morse and CAT tapers and special configurations) collets directly and are designed for use in a variety of mounting platforms, either horizontal or vertical. They are available with American Standard noses, A2-3, A2-4, A2-5, A2-6 and numerous Special Spindle Nose configurations. The Dunham Tool cartridge spindles are frequently used as main spindles and or sub-spindles on lathes, grinders, polishing machines, assembly machines, rotary welding/laser machines, etc.
The Dunham Tool high speed spindle precision cartridge spindle line has been expanded to incorporate models capable of 1 - 8,000 RPM and 0.000050" TIR accuracy as measured from the collet taper surface or spindle mounting feature. These spindles are used primarily by Original Equipment Manufacturers and other manufacturers for creating custom power-driven tool or work-holders.
