Dunham Tool manufactures high quality 5c air collet closers, 2j air collet closers, 16c air collet closers and a 3j air collet closer as well as many other models. The precision 5c collet closer and collet actuator are used with lathes, grinders, and CNC rotary tables, and are rated for up to 6000 RPM maximum. Dunham Tool collet stops and dead length collet stops are also available as optional attachments. Dunham closer collets are frequently used on Dunham Tools family of 50m precision spindle, high speed cartridge spindle and spindle headstock products as well as Hardinge lathes and other lathes and grinders.

Dunham lathe collet closers are designed to increase production and reduce operator fatigue on any lathe by activating either 2j, 3j, 16c, and 5c collets, expanding collets, or step chucks. Closer collet models with thru-hole capacity will accept bar stock up to 1 1/16” diameter (5C), 1 3/8” (2J) & 1 5/8" (16C) and 1 3/4"(3J). Even gripping pressure compensates for stock diameter variations which a mechanical lathe collet closer cannot accommodate.
